Tax questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most from individuals and business owners in Palm Beach Gardens and across Palm Beach County.
What tax returns do you prepare?
We prepare individual Form 1040 returns, S corporation (1120-S), partnership (1065), full C corporation (1120) returns, and Form 1041 trust and estate returns. We also provide bookkeeping and business advisory services. We do not handle international tax matters.
Do you prepare international or expat tax returns?
No. Our services do not include international tax matters, including foreign income, foreign trusts, or expat returns. If your situation involves international reporting, we can refer you to a specialist.
Where is Bernstein Tax Group located, and who do you serve?
Our office is at 4440 PGA Blvd, Suite 600, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. We serve clients across Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, and surrounding Palm Beach County and nearby communities.
Can we meet remotely, or do we need to come to your office?
Both work. Many clients meet with us by phone or video and share documents electronically. In-person meetings are available at our Palm Beach Gardens office by appointment.
How do you price your services?
Pricing depends on the complexity of the return or engagement, not a flat hourly rate. After a short conversation about your situation, we can give you a clear estimate before any work begins. We are not the lowest or the highest priced firm in the area.
When should I start tax planning?
As early as possible—especially before a business sale, large bonus, investment gain, entity change, or other major event. Many of the strongest planning opportunities disappear once the year ends or a transaction closes.
Can you coordinate with my attorney or financial advisor?
Yes. When useful, we coordinate tax information with your attorney, financial advisor, or other professionals so the work fits your complete financial picture.
What should I bring to a first consultation?
For tax preparation, prior-year returns, income documents, and records of deductions or transactions are good starting points. For planning, recent returns and a summary of your income and goals help us focus the conversation. We will tell you exactly what else is needed.
